Jet–Film Type Decarbonizers of the DS Series

The DS decarbonizer is designed to remove free carbon dioxide from water and to oxidize dissolved ferrous iron (Fe2+) to ferric iron (Fe3+), followed by its removal on mechanical filters.

The decarbonizer can be used both as an iron oxidation unit for artesian water at the very beginning of the water treatment process line, and at the final stages after H-type ion exchange filters of conventional chemical water treatment systems or after reverse osmosis units, in order to remove carbon dioxide upstream of mixed-bed filters or electrodeionization systems.

Key features of DS decarbonizers:

Consistently high and stable water treatment quality. Significantly simplified installation and operation of the jet decarbonizer, as well as a multiple reduction in costs when retrofitting existing tower-type decarbonizers.

Ability to operate throughout the entire service life without frequent shutdowns for labor-intensive cleaning of deposits.

Under proper operating conditions, no maintenance or repairs are required.

The decarbonizer is manufactured from stainless steel and polymer materials, which significantly extends equipment service life and eliminates corrosion of structural materials during operation.

The standard scope of supply includes the following equipment:

  • decarbonizer
  • piping and valves
  • air blower

Optional equipment:

Storage tank with level sensors, piping, and support frame.

Main operating conditions for decarbonizers:

  • feed water pressure — from 0.5 to 4 atm
  • maximum operating water temperature — 60°C

The overall dimensions of the decarbonizer are determined by calculation, depending on the quality of the feed water and the requirements for the treated water at the outlet.
