Industrial Reverse Osmosis Systems of the UOO Series

Membrane reverse osmosis units of the UOO series are designed for deep purification of domestic and drinking water, groundwater, as well as brackish water, removing virtually all contaminants contained therein (dissolved salts, organic substances, microorganisms, suspended and colloidal matter). UOO skid-mounted units provide a desalinated water (permeate) capacity from 0.5 to 50 m3/h at a feed water temperature of 10°C.

The standard configuration of the unit includes the following equipment:

  • control system based on an industrial controller
  • solenoid valve and inlet pressure sensor to ensure safe operation of the booster pump
  • mechanical prefilter (polymer or stainless steel 12Х18Н10Т housing) to protect the pump and membranes from mechanical impurities
  • high-pressure centrifugal pump with stainless steel casing (3×380 V, 50 Hz, power 1–15 kW, pressure up to 15 bar)
  • high-selectivity spiral-wound reverse osmosis membrane elements
  • pressure vessels made of stainless steel or fiberglass, rated for pressures up to 21 bar
  • set of pressure gauges
  • 3 rotameters (concentrate flow, permeate flow, and recirculation flow)
  • bypass solenoid valve for hydraulic flushing
  • control valves
  • float switch (used to shut down the unit when the clean water tank is full and restart it when the tank is emptied)
  • dosing pump for scale inhibitor solution
  • membrane chemical cleaning unit
  • “poor permeate” cut-off system.

Main operating conditions for reverse osmosis units:

  • pH — 4–11
  • turbidity — 0.1 mg/L (0.2 NTU)
  • silt density index (SDI) < 3.0
  • total iron (Fe) — 0.1 mg/L
  • manganese (Mn) — 0.05 mg/L
  • oxidizability — 5 mg O2/L
  • free chlorine — 0.1 mg/L
  • silica (SiO2) — 22 mg/L
  • water temperature — 5–45°C
  • electrical parameters — 380 V, 50 Hz, 1–45 kW
  • feed water pressure — from 3.0 to 6.0 atm
  • ambient air temperature — 5–35°C
  • humidity — not more than 70%
  • availability of a drainage system and a storage tank
